We’re looking for a skilled Python back-end developer to join our team of creators who are consistently raising the bar for user experience. The ideal candidate will have a unique blend of technical expertise, insatiable curiosity, and an analytical mindset. The Back-end Developer will use his or her understanding of programming languages and tools to analyze current codes and industry developments, formulate more efficient processes, solve problems, and create a more seamless experience for users.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Write code and tests, build prototypes, resolve issues, and profile and analyze bottlenecks using Python
• Compile and analyze data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement
• Collaborating with the front-end developers and other team members to establish objectives and design more functional, cohesive codes to enhance the user experience
• Design robust APIs to support mobile and desktop clients
• Developing ideas for new programs, products, or features by monitoring industry developments and trends
• Manage and optimize scalable distributed systems in the cloud
• Optimize web applications for performance and scalability
• Develop automated tests to ensure business needs are met, and allow for regression testing
• Participating in continuing education and training to remain current on best practices, learn new programming languages, and better assist other team members

COMPETENCIES

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science or a related field
• Excellent foundation in computer science, algorithms, and web design
• Fluency or understanding of Python (knowledge of other programming languages is an advantage)
• Experience in writing highly secure web applications
• Strong understanding of the web development cycle and programming techniques and tools
• Experience in designing RESTful APIs, specifically for mobile apps
• Experience with core AWS web-enabling technologies
• A growth mindset that challenges the status quo and focuses on outside-the-box ideas and solutions
• Experience in leading a team
• Excellent project and time management skills
• Ability to work independently or with a group
• Willingness to sit at desk for extended periods
